Christian Education Fall 2010

Credo Class

Canterbury Hall

September 19 - November 21, 2010

"Faith in Action"  Led by Fr. Rusty DeMoss, Jeanne Dean and other Lay Leaders.
God is incarnational: "The Word became flesh and dwelt among us" (John 1:3).  His love for each one of us through His Son, Jesus, empowered by the Holy Spirit, is our model too. We worship God and love Him through and in an incarnational faith, a faith expressed in action. Each Sunday we will explore a topic close to the heart of God that shows in the Scriptures how we are called to do just that, putting our faith to work, in action.  Opportunities will be provided as well to learn about and become involved in practical ways to implement what we have learned Scripturally.  Over the ten Sundays we will examine: Compassion; Service; Prayer; Witness; Reconciliation; Encouragement; Poverty; Courage

December 5 - December 19, 2010

"Credo" Led by Fr. Rusty DeMoss
Credo means "I believe" in Latin.  This is what this class is all about: As a Christian, what do you believe, and why? In this dynamic three-week series we will examine closely The Nicene Creed, which we profess every Sunday in church.  The Creed dates from the early 4th century.  Was it derived from a serene early Church? Or were the flesh, and the enemy, busy at work? Learn about the spiritual and political intrigue surrounding the heated heresies and controversies of the day, some which may surprise us as being all too familiar even now, and why the Creed is every bit as important today as it was then.

Well, you are not alone.  Come join us for this nine-week video driven study, where we will recapture the life of grace and hope in Christ Jesus.  Led by: Jeanne Dean. Childcare proviced.
